Welcome to Isys 520 and MBA 614

My name is Spencer Peterson and I will be your TA this semester. I am excited to help you succeed at reaching your goals concerning this class and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) for Excel.

My communication policy: If you have a question, email me directly (see contact info below). Also, you can visit me during my office hours (see details below). I receive all emails directly on my handheld, so emailing me is by far the best way to reach me if your question is time-sensitive. I promise to respond to your email as quickly as I can (within a couple hours) in order to let you know when I will get back to you with some guidance. My goal is to give you the resources necessary in order for you to become proficient in using VBA to enhance your careers or personal endeavors.

This blog: As Dr. Allen has outlined in a previous post, this blog is for you! After I answer a student's question, I will post the question and response on this blog. Many times, I will refer you to this blog in order to give you guidance to your questions. I hope this blog will be useful to you as a resource for answering your questions. In fact, if you find a resource that has been helpful to you, please feel free to comment it to the "Resources" post. This will help your fellow students as well as all those who might be interested in what you have found.

Best of luck! VBA rocks!

Introducing DoctorVBA

I'm a professor of Information Systems at Brigham Young University. This blog is a resource for my students an others on the use of VBA (visual basic for applications) to extend the functionality of spreadsheet models. I expect that most content will be posted by my teaching assistants over the years, but I will occasionally contribute myself.
